Removal of contaminants from components used in medical device, pharmaceutical, automotive, aerospace, and several other production environments is becoming increasingly important as companies strive to improve the cleanliness standards within their operation. We utilize a combination of ultrasonic cleaning, biological cleaning using microorganism technology and high pressure steam cleaning to provide our clients with a wide range of cleaning capabilities to exceptionally high cleanliness standards.
We do not use cleaning solvents which are harmful to the environment and work primarily with aqueous based cleaning solutions. We can provide access to testing of the technical cleanliness of your product in accordance with industry inspection standards, Total Organic Carbon Testing, Conductivity, etc.
Bay has a wide variety of ultrasonic cleaning equipment and currently provides a range of cleaning services for the medical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, industrial and manufacturing industries throughout Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK.
Our highly trained staff work within specially constructed units within our Service and Repair Centre. Our clients are able to monitor their jobs using our custom developed Condition Monitoring Software, which shows real time updates on job status.
We utilise a selection of cleaning agents in the ultrasonic cleaning process ranging from D.I. water through mild detergents to aggressive solvents for the more challenging cleaning jobs. We also have a selection of FDA approved cleaning agents available if required.
To complement our ultrasonic cleaning capabilities, we have a Class II Microbiological Safety Cabinet to provide a safe working environment to handle products potentially contaminated with pathogens. We utilise Laminar Flow Benches which provide a contamination free work environment for specific products we clean for the medical industry.
How does it work: Ultrasonic cleaning can be used for a wide range of work piece shapes, sizes and materials, and may not require the part to be disassembled prior to cleaning. Ultrasonic cleaning uses high frequency sound waves to agitate in a liquid. Cavitation bubbles induced by the agitation act on contaminants adhering to substrates like metals, plastics, glass, rubber, and ceramics. This action also penetrates blind holes, cracks, and recesses. The intention is to thoroughly remove all traces of contamination tightly adhering to or embedded onto solid surfaces. Water or other solvents can be used, depending on the type of contamination and the work piece. Contaminants can include dust, dirt, oil, pigments, rust, grease, algae, fungus, bacteria, lime scale, polishing compounds, flux agents, fingerprints, soot, wax and mould release agents, biological soil like blood, and so on.
Our biological parts wash will clean your parts without solvents while respecting both the operator and the environment. The biological Parts Washer uses natural regeneration to ensure an efficient and economical degreasing of parts.
How Does it Work?
- The Parts washer heats and regulates the cleaning solution liquid up to a temperature of 38°C, which optimizes both cleaning and biodegradation. The cleaning machine is equipped with several cleaning possibilities (brush, spigot, soaking) and filtration systems.
- The Bio Liquid used is an Aqueous and pH neutral solution, based on specific tensides, it is non-toxic and not flammable. It is also a Solvent and safety-label free product.
- The Bio Liquid in the parts was is treated with a concentrate of 1st class microorganisms, which continuously clean the liquid by biodegrading the removed oils and greases. These microorganisms also reduce sludge and odours in the parts wash and cleaning area.
- Our natural process uses microorganisms to transform pollutants into a source of food and energy (Biodegradation).
Pressure / Steam Cleaning
Our High Pressure Steam Cleaning equipment is typically utilised in conjunction with either Ultrasonic or Biological cleaning. It utilises high pressure water / steam to remove heavy contaminants from an item. The combination of high pressure and temperature is very successful in the removal of many contaminants such as oil & grease from parts being cleaned, however the process is limited to areas which can be directly accessed with the high pressure jet nozzle.
